White to slightly reddish barite forms a dense crystal coating with numerous small, metallic chalcopyrite crystals. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"2010\">The golden chalcopyrite creates a distinct contrast with the pale barite and gives the specimen a varied mineralogical and aesthetic appearance.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"bcw6ed\" data-start=\"2012\" data-end=\"2055\">Classic Barite Locality in the Sauerland Region<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2057\" data-end=\"2265\">Dreislar Mine is one of Germany\u2019s well-known barite localities. The hydrothermal vein deposit is particularly known for white to pink barite and various associated sulfide minerals. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2525\">Mining at Dreislar has a long history. Modern barite extraction began in 1957 and ended in 2008. Specimens from the mine are now characteristic examples of the historic barite mining district in the Sauerland region.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2527\" data-end=\"2759\">With dimensions of 8.0 \u00d7 6.5 \u00d7 4.0 cm and a weight of approximately 240 g, this is a compact cabinet specimen.
