The strong contrast between the lustrous green crystals and the warm-toned matrix defines the visual character of this specimen. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1883\" data-end=\"2146\">The dioptase crystals reach several millimeters in size and are freely distributed across the crystalline surface. This creates a three-dimensional display side on which the individual crystals stand out clearly from the pale to reddish-brown quartz matrix <\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1d5dzo7\" data-start=\"2148\" data-end=\"2192\">Dioptase from N\u2019tola Mine near Mindouli<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2194\" data-end=\"2438\">N\u2019tola Mine is located near Mindouli in the Pool Department of the Republic of the Congo. The locality is known for dioptase crystals on different types of matrix. Dioptase and quartz are documented from the mine.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2440\" data-end=\"2674\">The reddish coloration of the finely crystalline quartz matrix is probably caused by iron-bearing mineral components or staining. This visually distinguishes the specimen from many examples with predominantly pale matrix. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2676\" data-end=\"2912\">With dimensions of 6.9 \u00d7 5.0 \u00d7 4.0 cm and a weight of 120 g, this is a compact small cabinet specimen.
