The earthy colors and characteristic crystal development give the specimen the distinctive appearance of a historic find from the Siegerland mining district. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1468\" data-end=\"1687\">The crystals show the rhombohedral form typical of dolomite and stand out clearly from the darker matrix. This makes the piece a useful reference specimen for the mineralization of the former Eupel Mine. <\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1tougyi\" data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1735\">Historic Iron Mine near Niederh\u00f6vels<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1968\">Eupel Mine was located near Niederh\u00f6vels, close to Wissen, in today\u2019s Altenkirchen district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It was one of the historic iron mines of the Siegerland region and closed in 1964. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1970\" data-end=\"2250\">The locality is especially known for cream-colored to brownish dolomite crystals, sometimes associated with pyrite or chalcopyrite. This specimen shows the ochre-colored dolomite mineralization characteristic of the locality. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2252\" data-end=\"2470\">With dimensions of 5.4 \u00d7 3.7 \u00d7 2.0 cm and a weight of 73 g, this is a compact small cabinet specimen.
