A larger cavity within the gray phonolite matrix is lined with numerous white to cream-colored natrolite crystals. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"2127\">The crystals form dense, partly radial aggregates. Several crystal groups project freely into the cavity, giving the specimen a distinctly three-dimensional structure. The surfaces appear matte to silky. The crystals are opaque.   <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2129\" data-end=\"2244\">Measuring 9.0 \u00d7 8.0 \u00d7 3.0 cm, the piece belongs to the cabinet specimen size category. It weighs 156 g. <\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"yil7je\" data-start=\"2246\" data-end=\"2304\">Natrolite from a Phonolite Occurrence in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge)<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2306\" data-end=\"2618\">The Richter Quarry near Hammerunterwiesenthal is a well-known German locality for natrolite and other zeolite minerals. The quarry exposes phonolite in which various secondary minerals formed in fractures and cavities. Natrolite is one of the minerals documented from this locality.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2620\" data-end=\"2842\">Mineral-bearing fluids circulated through open spaces within the volcanic rock.
