Numerous deep-blue kyanite crystals sit on a pale rock matrix, creating a distinct color contrast. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1988\">The elongated crystals are locally arranged in fan-shaped to radiating groups. This creates a three-dimensional crystal cluster that is particularly well visible on the front of the specimen. The blue color ranges from medium blue to deep denim blue.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2116\">Measuring 11.0 \u00d7 7.0 \u00d7 2.5 cm, the piece belongs to the large cabinet specimen size category. It weighs 292.4 g. <\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"jfl44d\" data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2152\">Kyanite from the Selbu Region<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2154\" data-end=\"2501\">Selbu is known for a variety of metamorphic mineral occurrences. Kyanite occurs there in metamorphic rocks and may form elongated crystals as well as radiating aggregates.
