This natrolite specimen comes from the Richter Quarry near Hammerunterwiesenthal in the Saxon Ore Mountains. A larger cavity within the gray phonolite matrix is lined with numerous white to cream-colored natrolite crystals.
The crystals form dense, partly radial aggregates. Several crystal groups project freely into the cavity, giving the specimen a distinctly three-dimensional structure. The surfaces appear matte to silky. The crystals are opaque.
