Albite Crystals from Valberg Quarry, Norway
This attractive cabinet specimen features numerous white to cream-colored albite crystals on a dark, contrasting rock matrix. The crystals are predominantly tabular to short-prismatic and form dense groups, including partially rosette-like aggregates that cover much of the display surface.
Between the compact crystal clusters, many smaller, freely developed albite crystals are visible. Their pale surfaces show a vitreous to pearly luster depending on the angle of light. The pronounced contrast between the light-colored albite and the dark green to black matrix gives the specimen a decorative and mineralogically distinctive appearance.
