This attractive small cabinet specimen presents a classic mineral combination from North Africa: honey-brown fluorite on matrix from the internationally known Aouli mining district in Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. The collector specimen is distinguished by its warm amber to honey-brown crystal groups, which display an attractive vitreous luster under direct light. As a particular mineralogical feature, some of the fluorite crystals are overgrown by fine, metallic marcasite aggregates.

The historic Aouli deposit in the Moulouya Valley is known for its complex hydrothermal vein mineralization. The combination of cubic fluorite and sulfide-bearing marcasite aggregates gives this specimen good mineralogical and documentary value.
