This attractive small cabinet specimen presents a classic mineral combination from North Africa: honey-brown fluorite on matrix from the internationally known Aouli mining district in Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. The collector specimen is distinguished by its warm amber to honey-brown crystal groups, which display an attractive vitreous luster under direct light. As a particular mineralogical feature, some of the fluorite crystals are overgrown by fine, metallic marcasite aggregates.
