Azurite from Kerrouchen, Morocco – Dark Blue Crystals on Matrix

This Azurite specimen from Kerrouchen in Morocco shows a compact group of intensely dark blue Azurite crystals on a pale beige to brownish matrix. The deep blue color creates a strong contrast with the lighter rock and is the most striking feature of the specimen.

Measuring 5.5 × 4.5 × 4.0 cm and weighing 105.5 g, this is a small cabinet specimen. The Azurite crystals are concentrated on one side of the matrix, where they form a densely intergrown, three-dimensional crystal group.
