This mango quartz crystal group comes from Cabiche near Quípama in the Department of Boyacá, Colombia. Two intergrown quartz crystals form a slender group with a characteristic yellowish-orange area at the tip of the larger crystal.
The coloration is caused by fine halloysite inclusions concentrated in a specific growth zone of the quartz. The remaining crystal areas are colorless and transparent. The crystal faces display a distinct vitreous luster.
