Andradite with Epidote from Skjerpemyr, Norway

This attractive mineral specimen comes from the classic Skjerpemyr skarn deposit near Eidsborg in Telemark, Norway. The front is dominated by numerous well-formed black to dark brown andradite crystals. The reverse displays a contrasting association with green epidote, giving the specimen interesting mineralogical features from both sides.

The combination of andradite and epidote illustrates a characteristic mineral association from a skarn deposit and makes the specimen an attractive addition to systematic mineral collections as well as collections focused on geology and classic Scandinavian localities.
